ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Zero, a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois mix (dog), was airlifted by Spanish Fork Police after falling from a 20-foot wall during training. KUTV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A record amount of trust land funds will be distributed to Utah school districts for the 2026-27 school year, with Alpine receiving $15.8 million, Nebo $7.9 million and Provo $2.7 million. Alpine’s administrator Sam Rencher said school councils will decide on spending based on each school’s needs (for example, boosting reading skills). Daily Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Utah lawmakers introduced a bill that will ban cell phones in public schools from the opening to the closing bell, aiming to boost test scores and reduce bullying; schools may allow exemptions for special cases if the measure passes the upcoming General Session. KUTV

- ➤ Thunder beat the Jazz 129 to 125 in overtime Wednesday night after Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 46 points to snap a two-game losing streak, while Lauri Markkanen added 29 for the Jazz. KUTV
- ➤ Richie Saunders scored a career-high 31 points to lead BYU to a 104-76 win over Arizona State on Wednesday night. The Cougars built a strong fast-break rhythm as they won their 11th straight game with key plays from AJ Dybantsa. KUTV
