- ➤ The Church announced leadership changes on Thursday as President Henry B. Eyring assumed the Quorum presidency + Dieter F. Uchtdorf, 85, was set apart as acting president by Church President Dallin H. Oaks following the December 27 death of President Jeffrey R. Holland. Daily Herald

- ➤ Governor Spencer Cox and State Senator Lincoln Fillmore are pushing a ban on cell phone use in schools from bell to bell — some lawmakers, including Senator Kathleen Riebe, say the proposal is heavy handed. Lawmakers will debate the bill during the current legislative session. Mid Utah Radio
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Utah health officials say families should discuss vaccine options with doctors after federal guidelines changed recommendations (using shared clinical decision-making), and they will wait for final advice from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices to be issued at the end of February.
