She noted that hidden transactions and offshore transfers make it easier for bettors to evade laws (resulting in steep penalties). KUTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Yesterday, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation released a draft plan to manage the Colorado River if water agreements fail, listing options that could limit flows and affect Utah users. Officials said they will review it as the public comment period continues (alternatives range from no action to supply-driven proposals). FOX 13
- ➤ Governor Spencer Cox signed an agreement with the U.S. Forest Service that gives Utah a role in managing over 8 million acres of forest land. The deal lets the state input on projects like timber, watershed restoration and recreation + may lead to more logging, though some groups worry. The Salt Lake Tribune
