➤ BYU ranks fifth nationally with a 78% yield rate based on 2024-2025 NCES data, placing it behind Harvard + Stanford and ahead of Princeton and Yale. BYU has maintained a top-five rating for years despite serving a much larger student body than other top institutions. Daily Herald

REAL ESTATE NEWS

➤ University Place longtime general manager Rob Kallas retired Friday, Jan. 16 after nearly 50 years of building the retail hub & community center, and Michael Jorgensen will succeed him to continue its expansion. Daily Herald

SPORTS NEWS

➤ The Utah Mammoth beat the Seattle Kraken 6-3 Saturday with Nate Schmidt scoring two goals and assisting on two more + Lawson Crouse, Kevin Stenlund, Nick Schmaltz, and Barrett Hayton also adding to the win. The Kraken will host Pittsburgh Monday while the Mammoth face Philadelphia Wednesday. KUTV
