  • Alterra Mountain Company released pricing for its 2026-27 Ikon Pass and Base Pass today. Parents and another group will receive the biggest discounts as prices remain near last winter’s rates and the company offers a pass option for buyers cautious after a tough winter in Utah.  The Salt Lake Tribune

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Following the Iran conflict, gas prices in Utah jumped on Friday as the Salt Lake City/Provo area saw averages rise to about $2.97 to $2.99 a gallon — a 22-cent increase from the previous week — while remaining below the national average of $3.32.  FOX 13
  • Experts warn that rising global tensions over Iran may soon push gas prices higher at local pumps; specialists advise residents to fill up tanks and extra canisters now + this fuel surge could make everyday goods more expensive.  KUTV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The annual Girl Scout Cookie Program helps local girls learn business skills and build confidence as they prepare for cookie sales starting March 13 at community sites. Girls demonstrated making Thin Mint brownies plus set sales goals, with proceeds staying local to support future activities.  KUTV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The county commission and UTA announced a rideshare program launching this August in American Fork, Eagle Mountain, Lehi & Saratoga Springs. The service will offer 400 rides daily and connect riders to buses & FrontRunner stations using 16 vehicles, half wheelchair accessible.  Daily Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • A new affordable healthcare clinic has opened in Orem today to offer primary care and basic lab work for a flat monthly fee. The clinic provides preventive care with bilingual staff, extended weekday hours & Saturday appointments to help all patients receive timely treatment.  KUTV
  • State health officials report more than 350+ measles cases since June, and nurse practitioner Amanda Jocelyn treated several patients on March 5 to highlight the virus's severity. Local residents are urged to monitor symptoms and seek care if needed.  The Salt Lake Tribune
