- ➤ Utah Valley University’s Money Success Center urged Utahns to avoid panic selling during market drops and to stick to their investment plans or consider high-yield savings accounts for safer growth. The center and Fidelity will host a free Race to Retirement fun run at Mountain View High School in Orem on Saturday, April 12 with a kids race at 8:30 a.m. and an adult race at 9:00 a.m. FOX 13

- ➤ Governor Spencer Cox signed a law banning cellphones during classroom hours in public schools, which will take effect July 1 and still allows phone use during breaks. Cox said the measure is a strong start—though he noted that a bell-to-bell ban would better protect students—hoping school districts update their policies soon. The Salt Lake Tribune
- ➤ A fraudulent tax collection letter — that looks like an official notice — is circulating across Utah, asking people to pay unpaid state taxes and warning of legal action if they do not. The Utah State Tax Commission advises taxpayers to verify any suspicious correspondence by calling them directly. ABC4
