- ➤ United Way of Utah County held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 10 at its new community center in American Fork—its third location in the county funded in part by a $300,000 grant from Texas Instruments—where more than 90 local families have already used early education, literacy workshops, and STEM programs. - ➤ Elder Matthew S. Holland, Sister Paige Holland and Nathan Ricks (honored for contributions to education, civic, business and cultural life) received the Pillar of the Valley Award on April 9 at the Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo. Holland was recognized for his work in education and public service and Paige for her UVU leadership, while Ricks (posthumously celebrated with his family in attendance) was honored for his business impact.
