Good morning, Orem.

A backlash has emerged within the UVU community after author Sharon McMahon was chosen as commencement speaker and honorary degree recipient, with some students expressing concern over her social media remarks related to a previous campus tragedy.

Officials from the Utah Department of Natural Resources warn Orem residents to plan carefully for spring outdoor activities, noting that many lakes (at about 44°F) remain cold and weather can change quickly.

They advise checking current conditions before fishing, boating, or hiking.
