- ➤ An 18-year-old in Lehi aggressively solicited door-to-door without a permit—he even tried entering locked homes to gain attention and was arrested on multiple misdemeanor charges. KUTV
- ➤ Two wanted fugitives linked to a Romanian retail theft ring were arrested in Park City after the Taylorsville Police said they stole more than $500K in merchandise across Davis, Salt Lake, and Utah counties — Orem Police and ICE Removal Operations assisted in the arrest. KUTV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Utah Valley University dissolved its Center for Intercultural Engagement and laid off some full-time staff as it must reallocate $8.9 million from its 2025–26 budget due to state law changes — affecting less than two percent of its workforce. Student groups are protesting and a petition has gathered over 1,680 signatures while the university plans to present its new reinvestment plan to the Utah Board of Higher Education in May and set additional budget cuts for July 1 — with a new focus on a student success center.
