Utah State University's new free tool Power Pay helps users list all their debts and choose to pay off the smallest balance or highest interest debt while keeping minimum payments on all - it provides a clear plan to focus extra funds on a single debt at a time.

Dave Nellis of America First Credit Union explained that as each debt is cleared, users shift that payment to the next one - a process that can speed up debt reduction.
