ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A wildfire ignited in Goshen Canyon on Tuesday evening burned 400 acres and remains 0% contained, forcing the evacuation of three homes south of the area as winds pushed the blaze north and east, Utah Fire Info said.  Daily Herald

CULTURE NEWS

  • A SmartAsset study released Tuesday ranked Utah as the second friendliest state based on residents spending 38.2 minutes socializing, 32.5 minutes volunteering, and 21 minutes helping others daily (data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics was used).  FOX 13
  • Alan Osmond, the eldest Osmond and pillar of our local music scene, died Monday at 76 at his Lehi home with family by his side. He led the group and helped start community events like Stadium of Fire (with his brother Merrill).  Daily Herald

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Average gas prices in Utah dropped by a cent over the past week as self-serve regular now costs $4.20 statewide (with Cache County at $4.14 and Rich County at $4.48).  Mid Utah Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • State health officials reported 600 measles cases statewide since last year & 75 cases in April, noting that increased vaccinations helped slow the outbreak.  Mid Utah Radio
  • Utah County Health Department hosted a free three-hour drive-thru measles vaccine clinic today at the Spanish Fork county fairgrounds as cases rose above 400 this year. Officials made vaccines free+accessible for anyone without insurance or facing high costs.  FOX 13
