CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A person on horseback discovered what appear to be human bones on Friday night at Lambert Park in Alpine and police cordoned off the scene—investigators from Lone Peak and the state’s Office of the Medical Examiner processed the area—while the remains were turned over for further investigation, with their identity and cause of death still unknown. - ➤ A 41-year-old man, Eric Whitaker, was arrested on Friday after police seized 71 explosive devices and bomb-making materials from his Orem home following reports of a man brandishing a weapon at Towne Centre Mall — bomb squad experts confirmed the items were nail bombs and Whitaker later admitted he made them. - ➤ On April 25th, 2025, international students at the University of Utah and other local colleges had their visas reinstated after immigration officials reversed plans to revoke over 1,500 visas nationwide.
