COMMUNITY NEWS

  • VFW Post 6395 led over 20 volunteers at the Utah Food Bank Timpanogos Distribution Center in Springville on Tuesday, May 5 to sort food returns and move bins for local pantries. He will lead additional service projects on May 14, May 19 and May 28 — supporting families in need.  Daily Herald

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Taxpayer dollars are funding the renovation of the unused Sharon Elementary School in Orem — the building will reopen in August as a specialized campus for students with complex needs under the future Timpanogos School District. Alpine School District will maintain control until mid-2027 as the transition unfolds.  KUTV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Wasatch Community Gardens is testing dry farming to save water during the ongoing drought; about 20 percent of last year’s trial crops thrived. The garden will offer water-saving plant varieties at its annual spring plant sale.  FOX 13

SPORTS NEWS

  • BYU and Utah State announced a two-game men’s basketball series. The teams will play the first game on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Provo’s Marriott Center and the second at Salt Lake City’s Delta Center during the 2027-28 season — each program will receive 50% of available tickets.  KUTV
