- ➤ Family and friends gathered at 17-year-old Noah Scribner's childhood home in Orem on Thursday night to remember him after he died in a motorcycle crash in American Fork Canyon on Monday. He was a Timpanogos High School senior preparing for graduation and a mission for his church — the vigil offered comfort to a community in mourning. KUTV

- ➤ A judge in Orem ordered Caleb Aidan Rees to stand trial on manslaughter, drug and gun charges in connection with his girlfriend Rena Nguyen’s suicide—prosecutors say he left a loaded handgun in clear view and his abuse played a role in her distress. FOX 13
- ➤ Ari Bikes, a Utah company, reported that 337 custom bikes worth $1.7 million were stolen from a truck in California in April—its alert to the biking community led Los Angeles law enforcement to break a major cargo theft ring and recover most of the bikes along with firearms, money, and other stolen goods. - ➤ Water for Elephants (by Sara Gruen) was banned on May 5 from all public schools after Davis, Cache and Tooele school districts removed the title, making it the 18th banned book.
