- ➤ Timpanogos School District plans to launch a financially stable district in July 2027. Superintendent Joseph Jensen and board members visited nearly 29 schools this spring (including a stop at Timpanogos High) to gather community input and set criteria, with high school meetings scheduled for early June. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands says drought and little snowfall will likely lead to more wildfires in both high and low areas over the next two months. Residents should take extra precautions during red flag warnings. Mid Utah Radio
- ➤ Experts remain divided over whether summer conditions will drive the Great Salt Lake to a record low later this year. They say the changing water levels could affect local water and land use plans. The Salt Lake Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Farmers in the area remain hopeful after Gov. Spencer Cox declared a state-of-emergency following an April freeze that damaged orchards. The Utah Department of Agriculture now offers low-interest disaster-relief loans of up to $100,000 for eligible farmers in 10 counties until Nov. 15. FOX 13
