EDUCATION NEWS

  • Two finalists for the state superintendent of public instruction position have been named: L. Ben Dalton, superintendent of Kane County School District with more than 20 years in traditional public schools, and Molly L. Hart, the executive director of Summit Academy and a state school board member. The Utah State Board of Education will interview both candidates on Wednesday, May 21st from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m.—and will choose the new superintendent that evening as current leader Sydnee Dickson prepares to step down at the end of June.  The Salt Lake Tribune
  • MTECH celebrated its class of 2025 on May 13 at the UCCU Events Center—more than 2,600 certificates were awarded in programs like health care, technology, and skilled trades—in front of families. College leaders praised graduates for their hard work and urged them to be ready as they begin their careers.  Daily Herald
