- ➤ Utah-based crypto CEO John Karony was convicted of fraud and money laundering for misleading investors about SafeMoon’s liquidity pool — a jury found he misappropriated over $40 million, including funds used to buy two local properties — and he may face up to 45 years in prison. - ➤ Coco Berthmann, a human trafficking advocate who pleaded guilty to fraud for raising money with a fake cancer diagnosis, was booked into Salt Lake County Metro Jail Monday in Utah—authorities have not released further details about her ICE custody. KJZZ
