Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 10th of June.
Good morning, Orem.
🚧 Accidents
At approximately 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, a squirrel caused a half-acre brush fire in Layton by tangling in a power line, and hours later kids playing with matches started an acre fire near Chianti Street in Saratoga Springs, officials said as drought conditions heighten wildfire risks.
🏛️ Government
The Pentagon reversed a policy that once listed the LDS church as non-Christian after Utah politicians pushed back a few days ago.
The agency now classifies the LDS church alongside Baptist and Methodist groups without reference to Christianity.
🏥 Health
A new study finds Utah residents spend only 5% of their median monthly income on out-of-pocket healthcare costs, roughly half of what Alaskans pay.
Experts say lower healthcare prices and higher incomes help keep expenses down.
