Good morning, Orem.

A new proposal in Congress will raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, nearly doubling the monthly income for part-time Utah workers if passed—financial experts say higher labor costs may lead businesses to hire fewer workers.

A LendingTree study found that Utahns spend an average of 4.09% on tips at restaurants and bars — the lowest tip percentage in the nation.

The study noted that this figure may be influenced by more spending at fast food outlets where tipping is not expected.
