A new report from the cycling app JOIN shows that Utah ranked 8th worst for bike thefts with 84 incidents per 100,000 people, reflecting 2,959 bikes stolen or vandalized in 2023 at an average cost of about $1,640 each — while the national rate is 44 per 100,000 and Washington DC tops the list with 246 incidents.
