- ➤ On July 12, 31-year-old Daniel Braga Figueiredo drowned at Silver Lake Flat Reservoir when he used a paddleboard to try to rescue his 12-year-old relative who was drifting on an inflatable tube—rescue crews recovered his body around 9:30 p.m. KUTV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Kerry Arbon, a gay Latter-day Saint who lived privately in Orem, was killed in Salt Lake City in 1991 after his mother reported him missing, and investigators found gaps in the original investigation—such as missed leads and unpursued license plate information—that have kept his murder unsolved. - ➤ Gold prices surged to about $3,353 an ounce, and local coin shops are seeing more buying and selling as investors turn to gold for protection — global events like the COVID pandemic and recent conflicts have driven this shift.
