The 45% decline over 50 years may result in fewer students for local schools.

A poll released Wednesday by Morning Consult and the Walton Family Foundation found 86% of Utahns are worried about the Colorado River and 93% say the state must act, while many remain concerned about Lake Powell amid plans for new water management.

Drivers in Utah County face delays this weekend as UDOT closes an I-15 off-ramp in Lehi on Friday, July 31 at 10:00 p.m. for utility work and the off-ramp to Center Street in Orem on Saturday, August 1 at 9:00 p.m. for paving until Monday, August 3 at 5:00 a.m.

Utah families are having fewer children because high housing and childcare costs (and later marriages) have led to a record low birth rate.

Researchers warn this trend may soon reduce school enrollments and change local education.
