- ➤ Lorene Moore became the new director of the Candy Bomber Foundation, a charity that honors Gail Halvorson’s legacy by giving kids hope through education and aviation programs. The charity will launch its mobile science museum program this fall, host a paper rocket event on Sept. 20 at Salem Hills High, and start its Innovation Launch Pad program on Sept. 29 at Wings and Wheels in Spanish Fork — efforts that build on its long tradition of community service. - ➤ Garkane Energy will begin a full restoration today at 6:00 a.m. after the Monroe Canyon Fire damaged nearly two dozen transmission poles and caused outages for nearly 3,000 customers. Crews will run six generators to supply power while repairing the poles—and customers are asked to reduce power use on Wednesday and Thursday—until the main transmission is restored. KUTV
