Alpine School District split last year into three new districts—Lake Mountain, Aspen Peaks and Timpanogos—which created 21 board seats; 70 candidates ran and 40 will advance to November’s general election.
The new boards will select superintendents in January and begin dividing district assets based on student enrollment.
3rd District Court Judge Dianna Gibson rejected the Utah Legislature's request to pause the lawsuit over congressional maps — her decision lets the legislature seek a stay from the Utah Supreme Court as it appeals the case.
Voters and groups like the League of Women Voters have argued that the maps ignore Proposition 4, and the ruling now pushes for new congressional maps before upcoming elections.
Utah entered the AP Top 25 poll at number 25 after winning 43 to 10 over UCLA while BYU stayed just outside the ranking.
