Orem native Trevor Allen launched the inaugural Orem Film Festival at the Megaplex Theatres at Geneva in Vineyard on Sept.
24, 2025 and screened 10 short films by local filmmakers—about 600 community members attended the event and took part in Q&A sessions.
3R Games released a virtual reality update that recreates Nutty Putty Cave — a site closed in 2009 after John Jones died inside — allowing players to explore its 1,400-foot tunnels with details provided by caver Brandon Kowalis.
The experience is offered free to maintain a respectful and educational tribute to the cave's history.
