Nelson died Saturday evening at his Salt Lake City home at age 101 and funeral services will be held on Oct 7 at noon in the Conference Center on Temple Square — a public viewing is scheduled for Oct 6 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with tickets available online beginning Oct 2 at 10 a.m. for visitors aged 8 and older. - ➤ LDS Church President Russell Nelson died Saturday at age 101 and is remembered for urging his members to treat others with compassion and respect and for shortening Sunday services from three to two hours — reforms that have left a lasting mark. - ➤ Colorado apologized for anti-LDS chants that occurred during a recent BYU football game—BYU accepted the apology and denounced the use of religious slurs by fans, stating such behavior did not reflect campus values. The Salt Lake Tribune
- ➤ BYU won 24-21 in Boulder on September 27 after falling behind by 14 points in the first half. Coach Kalani Sitake said his team turned the game around—quarterback Bear Bachmeier threw for 179 yards and ran for 98 yards as the defense made key stops. The Salt Lake Tribune
