Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 12th of October.
Good morning, Orem.
🏛️ Government
Utah homelessness groups said they were not consulted when the state’s top board sent recommendations to lawmakers last month to shift services toward drug treatment and mental health care.
The groups raised concerns that the proposals could destabilize existing programs—officials plan to gather more input before any changes are made.
🏈 Sports
Utah ski resorts will start the 2025-26 season with Brian Head opening on November 7, Solitude on November 14, and Alta and Park City Mountain set to begin on November 21; other resorts will open in December—dates may change if weather does not cooperate.
The schedule is tentative as skiers wait for good snowfall.
