- ➤ Veterans Day offered free admission to veterans, active service members and their families at the Natural History Museum, Hogle Zoo and Loveland Living Planet Aquarium from Nov. 8–11 while national parks waived fees on Nov. 11. Restaurants including In-N-Out Burger, Chili’s and Texas Roadhouse provided free meals or discounts—Texas Roadhouse vouchers can be used until May 30, 2026—to honor military heroes. FOX 13
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wildlife specialists reported that invasive fox squirrels from the eastern United States have spread into Utah and now carry a disease that threatens native red squirrels and forest health. They noted that the fox squirrels thrive in urban areas with many trees and advised homeowners to fence gardens and trim nearby branches—and use traps carefully to protect native species. KUTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Utah officials said SNAP benefits will reach low-income residents by mid-month once government funding resumes. They said if a deal is not reached by Friday, beneficiaries will receive about 65% of their aid with full payments deposited within 24 hours after funding returns—pending USDA guidance.
