The coaches go way back. BYU's Kalani Sitake spent 10 years at Utah as an assistant and coordinator. Utah's first-year head coach, Morgan Scalley, calls him "a dear friend." Reminded that Utah's last loss came against BYU, Scalley said, "Oh, thank you for reminding me of that." Both teams won last weekend: Utah 49-25 at Cincinnati, BYU 27-20 over Arizona State.
