If you or a neighbor counts on , here's where things stand. The Provo nonprofit closed Nov. 1 while its board decides what's next, citing declining grant funding and donations and growing demand. Utah County took over the warming center, which was set to open Nov. 1 as planned.

Thousands relied on Community Action each year

20,000+
residents who rely on its services, per Commissioner Beltran
24,000+
people it helped last year
135
new families last month who'd never needed help
$1.5 million
it sought to stay open into next year

In the Wasatch Back, the Heber City pantry has shut down and the Oakley and Coalville sites are closed temporarily.

  • Closed: since Nov. 1, until further notice
  • Christian Center pantry in Heber City: up to three visits monthly
  • Bring: photo ID and proof of Summit or Wasatch residency

Utah County Commissioner Skyler Beltran blamed years of financial and operational mismanagement, not a lack of government support. Leaders told KSL in October they had only recently learned the full extent of the shortfall.
