- ➤ Officials in Utah County are evacuating American Fork Canyon near the Tibble Fork Area and have closed SR-144 at the Alpine Loop because a fire is affecting the roadway+ the Forest Service is fighting the blaze with crews sent on foot and by air drop. Officials have not yet determined the fire's cause. FOX 13
- ➤ A fire forced the closure of American Fork Canyon at the Alpine Loop and blocked access to Tibble Fork Reservoir—authorities evacuated the canyon and officials estimated that the road reopened around noon on Monday. KUTV
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ State officials have created a new task force to fight construction fraud after Utahns lost $32 million in three years with new home buyers losing an average of $302,000. The group—led by a full-time prosecutor and local lawmakers—will enforce rules, educate consumers and update regulations to protect home ownership. The Salt Lake Tribune
